|This page explains the common problems with CANBUS controlled window motors as fitted to most VW / Audi / Skoda and Seat models from approx' 2004 onwards.|
These motors are different to traditional motors in that they have a control unit attached to them that acts as a door-control module.
These modules control everything in the door from electric wing mirrors, central locking, window opening and closing, puddle lights etc. These units have software written to them from the factory that CANNOT be overwritten. If the motor does not have the EXACT software written to it for your car, then the motor will not work and is likely to cause a long list of other problems with the electrical systems on your car.
The only way to check if these motors are suitable for your car is to contact us with your cars' 17 digit chassis / VIN number. We can then check with 100% accuracy if the motor(s) we're selling will be suitable for your car.
Once these motors have been fitted to a car, they often cannot be fitted to any other car once they've been activated, so as such, when we ship these motors, they are despatched in a sealed security bag, if you open the bag and trial fit the motor then we WILL NOT be able to accept it back for credit.
So, please do contact us with your car's VIN number before ordering because we don't want you stuck with a motor that is no good to you and not suitable for us to resell.
In addition, if you are trying to retro fit power folding mirrors or puddle lights, then we will not UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES accept any motors supplied for this purpose back for credit.
We can be contacted on 01531 640800 or at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
