|METHODS OF POSTING|
I always choose the cheapest method of posting. Living in a rural area, I do not have access to courier collection points so I am limited to using Royal Mail. Royal Mail have a compensation limit of £20.00 value for standard mail, so if your package is significantly more valuable than this I will either have to split your postage into smaller parcels, or choose a tracked, insured method. Recorded Delivery has a value limit of £50.00 and does not cover jewellery at all. All jewellery items have to be sent via Special Delivery (UK) or International Signed For (rest of the world.) From September 2013 Ebay will be charging sellers a fee on postage charged, so this will have to be factored into the postage charge. Ebay want all sellers to offer FREE POSTAGE but please note that to do this sellers will have to add the postage cost onto the price of the item - so if you buy more than one item posted together, ultimately you will be paying multiple postage charges. NO POSTAGE IS FREE!
POSTING MULTIPLE ITEMS
When buying multiple, IDENTICAL items, you must use the drop down menu - do not purchase them separately or I will be charged more by Ebay - which will have to be passed on to the buyer. This is especially important when purchasing my large unmounted prints, for which there is no extra postage charge for the 2nd and 3rd print. When buying multiple DIFFERENT items, it is essential that you request a total BEFORE paying. If you cannot locate the 'Request Total from Seller' link just leave your items unpaid. I will know that you are awaiting an invoice. If you pay for your items separately I will assume that this is how you want them sent - perhaps because of import duty on larger, more valuable packages.
Ebay's quoted estimated delivery times have been taken from Royal Mail's website so are optimistic and are only a rough guide. They do not take into account busy periods, like pre-Christmas, when delivery can be seriously delayed, bad weather, customs delays, airport closures etc. IF YOUR ITEM HAS NOT ARRIVED WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME, please send me a message using Ebay messages to let me know. I will investigate, send replacements, or a refund if you prefer. To qualify for Ebay and Paypal's Seller Protection I am supposed to send ALL items via a tracked service, but I feel it is unreasonable to charge a postage that may be three times the value of the actual item. This means that I have to trust my buyers to be reasonable if an item does not arrive. If I continue to get buyers opening Item Not Received Cases against me without even contacting me first, I will have no option but to add a tracked rate to my postage charges - which is £5.30 plus the normal postage rate.
Any import, customs charges or import tax are to be paid by the buyer.
